HP 180 in Detail

HP 180 is stabile and flexible – always an optimal connection

Variable installation with high energy absorption during in impact

Even the most difficult route profiles can be realised with precast elements for concrete safety barriers with the new HP 180 connection system. The flexibility in the transverse joint required for this task is achieved by the special arrangement of the connection system in the middle third of the profile height. This ensures a high degree of movability despite the unrestricted transmission of force for achieving a continuous beam tie effect.
The staggered wedge sides in the connection also ensure “jolt-free” transmission of the forces and simultaneous energy reduction due to friction.
An optimal connection system for precast elements for concrete safety barriers should meet the following requirements:

  1. Transmission of high tensile and lateral forces
  2. Simple installation with complete connection without additional
    means of connection
  3. Maximum flexibility in the transverse joint for realising radial, crest and depression situations
  4. Dual symmetry of the connection system for universal exchange of the elements at any desired point.

All these requirements are optimally met by the HP 180 connection system.

Comfortably equipped – safety even without impact

Among the various types of profiles for concrete safety barriers, the New Jersey profile has repeatedly prevailed for more than 30 years. The heights of 81 and 115 cm in accordance with TL-BSWF are offered and manufactured as standard. Of course, the HP 180 connection system can be integrated in an extremely broad range of concrete safety barrier cross-sections (e.g. in step profile. Due to the high-quality concrete, optimised reinforcement and other additional equipment (e.g. reflectors) used, it is therefore possible to realise uniform beam tie systems with a consistently high safety potential depending on national or project-related specifications.
