From a paving stone factory to a technical system provider - Our history

NORDBETON GmbH was founded in 1959 as a paving stone factory. The family business originated from a construction company specialising in the construction of paths and roads started in 1876 by the great-great-grandfather of the current CEO.
The company has always been advancing with its innovative in-house developments. Over the last 60 years, NORDBETON GmbH developed from a classic concrete factory to a technical system provider.

The way to motorsports

In 2010 NORDBETON started to become active in motorsports when we installed our concrete safety barriers at a local drag race in Germany. This triggered further activities in motorsports for us, such as supplying the "Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters" (DTM Germany), where NORDBETON supplied barriers for the Munich race and for the "Race of Champions" (ROC) in Düsseldorf.
Through this experience, we established relationships with national and international organizations such as DSMB (local ASN Germany) and FIA (Federation Internationale de l'automobil).
Our customers now include Formula 1 circuits, Moto-GP circuits, local club facilities and test tracks of world-famous car manufacturers. We provide products and services for racetracks, street circuits and motor sport events of all kinds all over the world.

Sustainability & Responsibility

Nordbeton GmbH stands for precast concrete systems designed for applications where the highest demands are placed on durability and protection. Whether in motorsports, property and traffic protection, wastewater treatment, or through our specific custom components for complex infrastructure projects – our responsibility does not end with the finished product. We rely on sustainable production processes and the uncompromising longevity of our solutions.

Our key areas of responsibility

  • Resource efficiency & regionality:
At our precast plant, we optimize material use through resource-efficient production. We utilize regional aggregates to minimize CO₂ emissions by using short transport routes via ship. We continuously optimize our concrete mix designs by using CO₂-reduced binding agents (e.g., CEM III). Wherever structural requirements permit, we utilize these resource-saving cements to significantly reduce the ecological footprint of our precast components. Our production cycles are designed for waste prevention and the treatment of process water. Furthermore, we source our electricity and gas exclusively from renewable energy providers.
  • Verified transparency: Our high standards are supported by official industry EPDs (Environmental Product Declaration) for precast concrete components in various compressive strength classes. Our quality standards are thus ecologically verifiable. These EPDs are available for download in our 'Downloads' area.
  • Circular economy:
Through precise series production at our plant, we minimize production residues, scrap, and secondary raw material losses. We consistently return production residues to the materials cycle.
  • Circularity & service life:
A component that lasts for decades is the most sustainable solution. As a rule, our precast concrete parts are designed for a service life of at least 50 years. Our solid precast components are maintenance-free and fully recyclable at the end of their long service life, returning to the construction cycle as valuable secondary raw materials.

Ethics & compliance

Sustainability and ethical conduct are core elements of our corporate structure. To meet our high standards, we have established a central point of contact for reports regarding violations of environmental regulations, occupational safety, or ethics:

  • Central grievance office: Mr. Stephan Wildenberg
  • Email: info@nordbeton.com
  • Mailing address: Nordbeton GmbH, Industriestr. 2, 26169 Friesoythe

We carefully review every report and guarantee that all information will be treated confidentially.
